I gathered lots of seeds last year from the trees bumper harvest. Apparently in drought situations the tree will go into overdrive producing seeds in case it dies - smart trees!
They are coming along nicely. A lot of work transplanting them but hopefully all worth it one day. Very satisfying though.

This is great Bronagh! I collected acorns at school 25 years ago which are now a strip of decent oak trees on the farm. And harvested a load of willow branches from the river in the autumn and they've just sprouted so have got them planted around alot of field boundaries for sheep browse.
Very rewarding indeed Bronagh. I have about 60 or so oak, beech and chestnut about the hedgerows and corners of fields that I grew from seedlings 20 odd years ago.
