I stumbled across this by accident while listening to podcasts out fencing the other day. It was an interview on the Pasture Pod with Holly Beckett of Focused Farmers and discusses the quite tricky subject of state of mind. At first glance perhaps this seems entirely irrelevant to both farming and innovation but the more I listened the more I appreciated what they were getting at. Farming is a complete juggling act most of the time and its often hard to see the wood for the trees. Couple that with often balancing an additional job/income, a family and maybe if you're lucky a social life and you can see how quickly things can get on top of you and you start to retreat from opportunities to leave the farm and experiment with different practices. Networking and experimentation are essential components to innovation and if we're not even able to get in the room then its really hard to make a start on changing things. I don't know if Focused Farmers has all the answers to this complex issue, but I'm certainly willing to give it a try and perhaps so should you... you don't know what you don't know... The next farmer group workshop programme starts tomorrow - Thursday 16 June. Check it out here: https://www.focussedfarmers.com/focus-workshops

Agree 100%, Will. I joined a few of Holly's webinars last year, she's very good, definitely worth a try. I think (don't quote me!) , she does a free introductory session/s.
