About the event

Do you have waterways on your farmland and worry about the risk of pollution?

Is water management on your farm a struggle?

The Water Innovation Network have been trialling low cost nature-based solutions to capture and clean dirty water on farms, and provide farmers with harvestable crops. These solutions are designed to minimise the amount of productive land needed, are simple to install and easy to maintain.

Join us on a tour of Millar's pig farm to see how a system of swales planted with nutrient hungry plants (comfrey and willow) tackles farmyard run-off and contributes to overall water management on the farm, and how an area of mixed trees provides habitat creation and influences bioremediation.

If interested, please RSVP below and arrive at the location and time listed below:

Farm location: Millar's Pig Farm, 26 Lismoney Road, Cookstown, County Tyrone, BT80 8RH.

Farm tour: Tuesday 9th May 2023, 10:30am - 11:30am.
