The orchard started over lockdown but there is some old (ancient) oaks in the area (Ancient oaks would be 400 years+).
The large oak over looking the orchard is more than likely older than Belfast (1888 city status)
It was probably after 1740.
Does anyone grow fruit trees on their farms? A good source of food for people and some live stock! On site there is Pear, Apple, Medlar and some raspberry canes.
🌻🌻🌻Today I was planting out some sunflowers to add some added colour. Enjoyment for the community and seeds for the birds 🌻🌻🌻
Nothing like the grandeur of an old oak tree to warm your heart eh! The orchard looks brilliant, Im hoping to establish one later this year on the farm just on a small plot. Where did you guys source your trees from?
